Question
What kind of working instructions would you give when working under ESD ‘danger’? What things have to be taken into consideration when thinking of ESD? -Anonymous
Answer
There are five things to keep in mind when working on ESD sensitive components/devices.
1) ground all conductors (especially you)
2) remove all non-necessary charge generators (focusing on insulators or non-groundable items) in the work area
3) control all necessary charge generators with either topical antistat or ionizers
4) shield all sensitive devices when not being used
5) educate and empower all employees in ESD controls dos and donts
6) have managements support to ensure all above are covered
