Question If I understand his question correctly, Tim and I were talking and he (and I) would like to know how would you measure to be sure your finger cots are antistatic when you are wearing them? - Gretchen, Desco Industries, Marlboro, MA
Answer Product material testing is done in the lab in a controlled environment. There is no industrially accepted standard for testing the property of "antistatic" or low charging. The testing you mentioned below can be done, but will most likely not be repeatable. Wear the finger cots, rub them on a surface, measure their surface with a field meter, record the reading. This record will give you an indication if the finger cot is in fact performing as antistatic while in the field.
