Question
Thank you very much! But I still have a few questions.
1. As you mentioned, ESD STM97.1 defined 35x10
6
is the upper limit for flooring and footwear systems, does this mean that the combo tester needs to be calibrate to a 750k-35M resistance for footwear?
2. In ESD S9.1 Protected Area defines footwear, 1x10e9. What's difference from the above standards?
Many thanks for your quick reply. Due to the fact that we are new factory, we need to buy combo testers and other ESD measurement equipment. - Anonymous, China
Answer
Yes, according to our Electronics Product Manager, our combo tester can be set to 35 megohms upper limit for footwear testing. This will then be in accordance with ESD STM97.1. The ESD STM97.1 is for both foot grounders or ESD shoes. The ESD S9.1 is just for ESD Shoes and does not consider the grounding floor in its tests of the shoes as the ESD STM97.1 does.
